The UK economy has finally come out of recession but for many of us the struggle will continue for a long time
Chancellor Alistair Darling has insisted that The UK economy has left recession because the government took the “right decisions” But Mr Darling admitted that it took us longer than it should have to recognise the deep lying problems in the financial services industry.
Shadow chancellor George Osborne has also advised that growth remains “very weak”.
Figures on Tuesday showed growth by just 0.1% in the last three months of 2009. The UK’ had been the last major economy still in recession and many are asking why.
Many think that this was because of the size of the financial services industry within the UK.
In the UK the recession began in the April-to-June quarter of 2008, and this has become the longest recession ever in the UK. During 18 months of recession, public borrowing increased
Experts said the biggest boost came from areas such as retail and the motor trade, which has been helped by temporary factors such as the scrappage scheme.
Confidence is coming but only slowly. There is still a general reluctance for businesses to invest, consumers to spend for the banks to lend.
The UK’s debt crisis far from being over just because the recession is over. The UK is currently borrowing more than Greece, which already has to pay 2.5 per cent more for debt than Germany: a similar result in the United Kingdom could cost the average family an extra £200 per month in tax.

Money is the one thing that is often on peoples mind. For many it is very easy to spend but hard to hold onto. One of the biggest problems people have is spending too much money on their grocery bills. Here are some tips on how to save your hard earned money.
One of the most expensive necessities is food. There are very simple ways to save money on your groceries. One way is to use coupons. If you do not subscribe to a newspaper then do not go out and buy a newspaper every Sunday. That would defeat the purpose of saving money.
Instead ask your relatives, friends, and neighbours if you can have their newspaper when they are done with it. Another great tip when using coupons is to not use them the same week they are in the newspaper. Often if you save your coupons for a couple weeks you can get lower savings when the items go on sale.
Another way to save money on groceries is to look at ads online. Each week look online at different grocery store ads. Figure out
where the most things on sale are that you need, then shop there for the week. Do not go a lot of different stores because this will cost you money in petrol.
A third way to save money on groceries is to buy generic. Often many people buy brand products because they think they will taste better. In reality most generic food tastes the same as brand products and actually the only difference is that they are just packaged differently.
Finally in order not to go over the amount of money you want to spend on groceries a month you should follow this plan…
First figure out how much money a week you can afford to spend on groceries. Then get an envelope and fill it with enough cash for each week. When the money runs out then your grocery shopping is done for that week. It’s as simple as that.
All of these tips will help you save on your monthly grocery bill. With the extra money that you save, you can put it in a savings account for a rainy day. With these tips, saving money does not have to be a challenge.
